Free swimming lessons for young people aged 12–16 and 16–22 years
The City of Helsinki’s Sports Services offers free sports activities through Vimma Sports for 12–16-year-olds and Puhti Sports for 16–22-year-olds. During the spring season of 2025, they will provide eight-week-long beginner swimming lessons for mixed groups at the Itäkeskus indoor swimming pool. The swimming lessons are free of charge, but you must register in advance.
Vimma Sports beginner swimming lessons for 12–16-year-olds will be held at the Itäkeskus indoor swimming pool on Tuesdays, 14 January–4 March 2025, from 17:45 to 18:45 (actual swimming lesson duration: 18:00–18:45). Additional information: Vimma Sports Swimming Lessons mixed group (registration)
Puhti Sports beginner swimming lessons for 16–22-year-olds will be held at the Itäkeskus indoor swimming pool on Tuesdays, 14 January–4 March 2025, from 18:30 to 19:30 (actual swimming lesson duration: 18:45–19:30). Additional information: Puhti Sports Swimming Lessons mixed group (registration)
Both swimming lessons will accept a maximum of 13 people and are intended for young people who cannot swim at all. In these swimming lessons, young people without any prior swimming skills will learn the basics under the guidance of a swimming instructor in their own small group. Each lesson will have two swimming instructors present who speak Finnish, Swedish, and English.

You can call or send a message with the participant’s full name, age, phone number and email address. You can also call this number for more information. You will receive further information and instructions on how to participate in the swimming lessons when you register. Registrations will be accepted until 17 January 2025.
