Swimming halls open after summer break on Monday 28 August
One of the tell-tale signs of autumn is the re-opening of swimming halls following their summer break, and many of you have already been looking forward to adding some splash to your lives. Itäkeskus and Pirkkola swimming halls are already open, and those at Yrjönkatu and Jakomäki will welcome swimmers once again on Monday 28 August.
Itäkeskus swimming hall, also known as the ‘Eastern Tropics’, is a recreational centre for the entire family with a touch of familiar and nostalgic 1990s atmosphere. This September will mark the 30th anniversary of this unique swimming hall.
Yrjönkatu swimming hall will be open as usual for the autumn season 2023 and is then expected to close for renovation at the beginning of 2024. So now, more than ever, is the perfect time to head to Yrjönkatu to enjoy some old-time spa atmosphere and the legendary mead served by Cafe Yrjö! We will inform you of the renovation schedule and duration as soon as details are confirmed.
You can buy an advance ticket online for the 2nd floor of the Yrjönkatu swimming pool. A maximum of 4 tickets can be purchased per customer.
The popular women’s swimming sessions will continue at Jakomäki swimming hall this autumn. Women’s sessions will start on Tuesday 29 August and tickets must be booked in advance. The tickets become available 24 hours before each session here.
Are you in need of change or a more varied workout? Admission to the gym is included in the ticket price at Itäkeskus, Jakomäki and Pirkkola swimming halls. At Itäkeskus and Pirkkola, the ticket price also includes virtual water aerobics. Have you already given it a go?
