Enrolment instructions

Enrolment for the City of Helsinki’s sports courses three times a year. Enrolment for spring courses is in December, for summer courses in April and for autumn courses in August.

Enrolment for the spring 2025 sports courses will start on Monday, 9 December.

Enrolment for the spring 2025 group exercise classes, water exercises, swimming schools and gym courses will begin on Monday 9 December according to the phased schedule below.
You can find out more about the courses in advance from Monday 25 November onwards at liikuntakauppa.hel.fi.
The spring season will last from 7 January until 28 April 2025. Classes will not be arranged on week 8 and on public holidays.

Monday, 9 December 2024 11 am – 7 pm

Enrol by phone on +358 9 310 28858 or online at liikuntakauppa.hel.fi according to the following schedule:

  • 11 am –12.30 pm Water exercises and gym courses for the elderly
  • 12.30 pm – 2 pm Group exercises for the elderly
  • 2 pm – 3 pm Adaptive sports
  • 3 pm – 4 pm Water exercises for adults, gym courses and swimming schools
  • 4 pm – 5 pm Group exercises for adults
  • 5 pm – 6 pm Children’s swimming schools Pirkkola and Itäkeskus
  • 6 pm – 7 pm Children’s swimming schools Jakomäki and children’s group exercises

Phone enrolment closes at 7 pm, but after that you can register online for all courses at liikuntakauppa.hel.fi 24 hours a day.

Agreement terms for customers enrolling in courses

Registration and terms:

  • The registration is binding. The participant does not need to report their absence. Absences are not compensated.
  • Cancellations must be made no later than seven days before the beginning of the course. If the cancellation is made after this or once the course has started, the fee will not be returned.
  • The Sports Services reserve the right to change or cancel courses and their contents even before the season begins. Individual classes cancelled during the season (e.g. the instructor falling ill or other reason outside the control of the Sports Services) will not be compensated.
  • If a place is vacated on a fully booked course, it will be offered to the first in line. The notification will be made by phone.
  • The City does not provide insurance for participants.
  • Exercise courses will not be held on national holidays.
  • Invoicing: An invoice will be sent to the participant by post based on their registration by phone. If the client has an e-invoice agreement with the City of Helsinki Health Services or schools, for example, the invoices will be automatically directed to their online banking service. The e-invoice agreement applies to all divisions of the City.
  • The course fee can be paid, based on an invoice, with the most common exercise vouchers.
  • Group exercise is sold as individual courses, where the maximum number of participants has been defined according to the size of the space.
  • Restrictions: For water sports, you can reserve a max. 2 places (regular or queue).
  • For some courses, an access control and customer card must be bought for €4. Other sports and exercise products can be added to the sports services customer card after registration.
  • The price groups included in the client agreement terms of the courses and their terms are also available in the online service liikuntakauppa.hel.fi.
  • People with a front-line, front-soldier or front-line service badge and disabled war veterans are given free access to supervised exercise groups and the gyms and swimming halls of the City of Helsinki when they present a front-line service card or the oak leaf brooch. Informal carers are also granted free access to sports courses and other guided sports activities. Registrations are taken by phone. The status of an informal carer must be verified by showing a payslip or pay statement no more than three months old. Identification must also be provided upon request.
