Outdoor swimming pools

Helsinki has two City-owned outdoor swimming pools, the Swimming Stadium and the Kumpula Outdoor Swimming Pool, which are an inseparable part of summer in Helsinki.

The water temperature in the outdoor swimming pools is 27 °C, so having a dip is a pleasant experience even when the day is cloudy, and cool weather makes the heat of the sauna all the more relaxing.

The outdoor swimming pools are particularly popular on the hottest of summer days. You can check the real-time visitor counters to see how many people are currently using the facilities and what the maximum customer capacity of each outdoor swimming pool is.

Outdoor swimming pool season 2025

In summer 2025, the Swimming Stadium will be open from 11 May to 21 September, while the Kumpula Outdoor Swimming Pool will be open from 26 May to 22 August. The season will be longer than before, and the pricing of the outdoor swimming pools has also changed. The ticket selection includes a new outdoor swimming pool season product that covers the entire outdoor swimming pool season from 11 May to 21 September and is eligible at both outdoor swimming pools.
