Contract terms for the independent use of school gyms

Anyone that reserves shifts from the independent use schools shall comply, in addition to the terms of use for standard and individual shifts, with the instructions of the schools on independent use and the terms of the key transfer agreement.

  • Upon receiving the keys, you are responsible for the key and for ensuring that users of the facility during the shift follow the operating instructions for the entire shift.
  • The person booking the shift is entitled only to the facility shifts granted to them by the Sports Unit. Users may enter the school premises 15 minutes before the start of the shift and the gymnasium itself only at the start of the shift. After the shift has ended, users have 30 minutes to change, after which they must leave the premises.
  • Shift users are responsible for ensuring that third parties do not enter the premises.
  • Users are also responsible for cleaning up after the shift. Cleaning includes putting things in their places, collecting rubbish in the rubbish bins, and wiping off sand, dirt, etc. that has accumulated on the floor. Shift users are responsible for any additional cleaning costs that may incur.
  • Shift users must check the facility after their shift and
    • make sure that the doors and windows are locked
    • turn off showers and spigots
    • record any damages and report them to the school principal and the Sports Unit at liikuntapaikkavaraukset@hel.fi without delay
    • if a user causes damage or equipment breakages at the school, the booker is responsible for reimbursing the costs incurred
  • If shift users trigger an alarm at the school, the booker is responsible for reimbursing the costs incurred
  • In exceptional situations, contact Palmia’s security service at +358 9 856 59 417.
  • The city is not responsible for damage to the users’ property during a shift or for lost property in the facility.
  • If the key is lost or not returned by the agreed date, the recipient community is liable for re-encoding the locks and/or acquiring new keys. Up to €150/key. Sum increased from €100 to €150 by decision of the Head of Division on 10 August 2023
  • Lost keys must be reported without delay to the Sports Unit at liikuntapaikkavaraukset@hel.fi
  • The Sports Unit has the right to change the terms of the contract during their validity
  • Failure to follow the rules may result in your shifts being cancelled.
