Gyms and weight training halls

The City of Helsinki’s 15 gyms are suited for users of all levels of fitness. We guarantee diverse and high-quality training sessions across Helsinki along good transport connections, such as the Jokeri Light Rail and the metro. Our affordable one-off sessions and seasonal card products enable you to try our different locations and train flexibly, no matter where you are going.

Gyms and weight training halls of Helsinki

Our gyms feature machines and equipment for comprehensive gym training, while the free weight areas of our weight training halls are best suited for weightlifting and weight training. Many of our locations, such as Töölö Sports Hall, Liikuntamylly and Kontulan Kuntokellari Gym, feature both sections.

Prices

Our multi-visit and seasonal cards give you access to all of our gyms priced at the same or a lower level! The entrance fee to our swimming hall gyms also entitles you to use the swimming hall for the same price. Our 10-visit, monthly and seasonal swimming hall cards give you access to all of our 15 gyms.

Price groups

  • Price group, others: pensioners, students, unemployed people, children (ages 15–17), people with disabilities, conscripts and people in civil service, and asylum seekers and people who have applied for temporary protection.

War veterans and informal carers can enter free of charge

The free admission applies to informal caregivers who have signed a caregiving agreement with the City of Helsinki and who, under this agreement, receive caregiving support or a salary from the City of Helsinki. Caregiver status must be verified with a payslip or certificate no older than three months, and identity must be proven upon request.

War veterans are granted free access to the gym by presenting a front supplement card or an oak leaf emblem.

Fitness programme and fitness testing

We also provide an opportunity to receive personal gym instruction and a personalised fitness programme for an affordable price, as well as fitness testing to determine your level of muscle mass, body fat, water, etc.

Service centre gyms

All of the City of Helsinki’s service centres feature a gym. Pensioners and unemployed Helsinki residents can use these gyms free of charge.
